The Wycliffe Association kicks off
News, worship, friendship and lunch at our first ever gathering
An update on Hall life from Michael Lloyd
Worship together in the Chapel
The new Wycliffe Association held its first gathering on 16 April.
It was wonderful to see the diverse crowd who came along: Wycliffe Hall alumni, clergy, Summer School alumni, friends of Wycliffe, and community and family members young and old. Some guests flew in from overseas to be part of it.
What is the Wycliffe Association?
The Wycliffe Association brings together all those whose lives, faith, scholarship, or ministry have intersected with Wycliffe Hall. If that describes you, you are very welcome to join.
Rooted in the gospel-shaped vision of Wycliffe Hall, the Association exists to encourage fellowship, reconnection, prayer, and shared participation in the life of the Hall today.
Inspiration, news and eating together
The gathering started with coffee, cake and a chance to catch up with old friends, before Wycliffe's principal, Dr Michael Lloyd, gave an update on what’s going on at the college. The guests enjoyed hearing about the New Renaissance Project and the Theomousikos programme too, before an inspiring time worshipping together in the chapel.
The Association’s first lunch followed. One guest described:
“a dining hall of white linen tablecloths, delightful floral displays and a delicious lunch of rare roast beef and accompaniments, with mouth-watering vegetarian options, and a dessert display that would put a French patisserie to shame.”
Eating together has always played a role at the heart of Wycliffe Hall and it was wonderful for the Association to sit down together, laugh, share memories and make suggestions for how they would like to see the group develop.
Join the Wycliffe Association
It’s not too late to join - we would love to see you at our next gathering. To help us get the word out, please invite all your friends who have a link to Wycliffe Hall, too. All the details are on this page.
